description abstractA summary of the 1977 Atlantic hurricane season is presented along with detailed accounts of individual storms. This season was a rather inactive one, with fewer storms than normal. Anita was an intense hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, but made landfall along a sparsely populated section of the Mexican coast. Babe was the only named storm to cross the United States coastline this year.
