| description abstract | Liny's formula for eddy viscosity in the presence of purely convective instability is extended by including both the buoyancy and inertial contributions to the turbulence energy in a slantwise convection of moist symmetric instability (MSI). When convective available potential energy is small or not observed but MSI is strong for a frontal rainband, a large value of eddy viscosity is estimated from the extended formula. | |
