description abstractThe two-level baroclinic steering model developed by Kasahara (1960) for predicting hurricane trajectories is extended by taking account of the initial velocity of the hurricane. This model is applied to hurricane Audrey, 1957. The analysis of four-level data for hurricane Audrey, 1957, and the results of the Audrey forecasts are presented.
