description abstractTwo types of structured media were evaluated for air stripping of volatile organic compounds. Both media proved effective in removing trichloroethylene, cis‐1,2 dichloroethene, chloroform and bromoform under a wide range of operating conditions. Potential attributes of these structured media include the ability to accommodate relatively high liquid loading rates and the relatively low gas flow pressure drops imparted by the media, even at high liquid loading rates, gas flow rates, and gas‐to‐liquid ratios.
