description abstractThe modulus of elasticity of concrete is a fundamental parameter in analysis and design of reinforced‐concrete structures. The present ACI approach for Young's modulus is based on normal strength concrete. It may not be appropriate for high‐strength concrete. Experimental studies were conducted on the static Young's modulus of normal‐strength concrete and high‐strength concrete. An empirical equation for Young's modulus of normal‐weight concrete determined by computer regression analysis, using the least square method, is described in this paper.
