description abstractThe kinematics of wobble broaching, a process which can be economically used to produce polygonal holes in single and small lot production, are analyzed. An analysis to calculate the length of contact of the cutter and the workpiece and the area of uncut chip is presented. The analysis indicates that the optimal inclination angle of a wobble broaching head is around 2 deg.
