description abstractThis paper describes an experimental evaluation of the effects of the intensity and scale of turbulence on the drag coefficient of two-dimensional rectangular cylinders exposed to grid turbulence. It is observed that the mean drag coefficient is principally influenced, for a given cylinder, by the intensity of turbulence and that the scale of turbulence plays a secondary role.
