| description abstract | The study extends the simplified solution of Hashish and duPlessis by obtaining an exact solution to their governing equation. This exact solution does not invoke many of the assumptions specified by Hashish and duPlessis. The solution expresses the penetration depth as an implicit function of time and may be used to provide further insight into the penetration of solid materials by water jets. | |
