| description abstract | The main problem considered is that of determining spheres which best approximate given sets of spatial points. The spheres sought are best in the sense of having the minimum-maximum radial distance from the points to be approximated. Configuration of the points with respect to the best spheres is discussed in detail. Related results are also obtained for the approximation of points by planes. | |
