| description abstract | Opening room blends of 1.5 denier and 2.25 denier polyester/cotton were combed to improve blend homogeneity, and their processing and yarn properties were compared with those of conventional drawframe blends and combed cotton/polyester weigh-pan blends. Fewer processing steps were required to produce yarns of equal grade and tensile strength than by conventional blending methods. Combing of opening room blends of cotton/polyester can be a practical method of processing more homogeneous blends, even though some polyester was removed in the comber noils. | |
