description abstractThe paper describes algorithms and their computer implementations to calculate effectively strain energy release rates by means of FEM, making use of substructuring techniques. Numerical examples are given for 2-D and 3-D thermo-elasto crack problems including a corner crack in a pressure vessel nozzle.
