description abstractAn innovative lightweight composite deck (LWCD) is proposed for steel bridges to avoid premature fatigue cracking. The composite deck is composed of an open-ribbed orthotropic steel deck (OSD) and a thin ultrahigh-performance concrete (UHPC) layer.
