description abstractIn this study, mechanical properties of glass fiber–reinforced sulfur mortar prepared with dicyclopentadiene (DCPD)-modified sulfur are evaluated. The efficiency of sulfur modification was detected using a differential scanning calorimeter and mortar’s mechanical property measurements. Fiber-reinforced mortars were prepared using DCPD-modified sulfur and glass fibers of lengths 6 and 12 mm with different volume percentages. Splitting tensile strength and modulus of rupture (MOR) increased up to 147.44% and 83%, respectively, due to fiber reinforcement; however, compressive strength did not improve much. Based on mechanical measurements, experimental relations for prediction of splitting tensile strength and MOR in the range of 0–5.21% of glass-fiber volume percentage were derived.
