description abstractVarious factors in the fabrication and erection of the prefabricated parallel wire strand (PWS) used for most of the Honshu‐Shikoku Bridges in Japan affect the quality and construction period. Several developments in these factors are presented and discussed. In addition, the advanced air spinning (AS) techniques used for the Shimotsui Seto Bridge in this project are also presented.
