| description abstract | Abstract. The design of compressors is one of the most complex tasks in the field of turbomachinery. The multitude of influencing factors contributes to the variability in achieving the required compressor parameters under different operating conditions. Creating models that account for these multiple influencing factors is a complex challenge due to the multicomponent nature and the intricate interrelationship among design, gas dynamics, and external factors that directly impact the compressor and associated equipment during operation. Compressors often operate in mechanical and aerodynamic connection with other elements that have a direct or indirect impact on each other. One example is gas turbine engines. The air from the compressor enters the combustion chamber and then the turbine, which directly drives the compressor itself. In between, there can be many other elements that influence this system in various ways. This study explores the influence of factors such as the distribution of work between stages of a multistage axial compressor and the degree of kinematic reaction on the compressor map under off-design conditions. The results of this study will allow for more efficient selection of parameter distribution profiles to ensure the required flow parameters behind the compressor at different rotational speeds, while also maintaining necessary stability margins at off-design operating conditions. | |
