description abstractAbstract. This article presents a tribological behavior analysis of the hybrid composite developed with epoxy, bidirectional pineapple fiber fabric (PAFF) mats, and recycled S-glass fibers (RSGFs). Laminates were prepared by orienting mats at 0 deg, 45 deg, and 90 deg, incorporating a weight percentage of random RSGF, i.e., 15 wt%, 25 wt%, and 35 wt%. The hybridization enhances wear resistance, reliability, and strength. For wear analysis, the correlation between the parameters of a pin-on-disk (normal load, velocity, and sliding distance) and a solid particle erosion test (erodent impingement angle, velocity, and discharge) was taken into consideration, and Taguchi analysis was used to analyze the effect of different parameters. The optimum balance between mechanical performance and wear resistance is achieved at 35 wt% RSGF.
