description abstractIn this paper, thermo-photo-oxygen coupled aging tests at different aging temperatures and anaerobic and thermo-oxygen aging tests at 135°C were conducted on styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) type copolymer–modified asphalt. The rheological properties of modified asphalt before and after aging were quantitatively analyzed by dynamic shear rheometry (DSR) testing, and an aging degree prediction model of SBS-modified asphalt was established. The results showed that the rut factor index (RI) is capable of characterizing the aging degree of SBS-modified asphalt, and the aging model can accurately predict the change of rut factor G*/sin(δ) at any testing temperature and at any time during the aging process.
