description abstractThere is a growing demand for arbitration as a method of settling disputes in engineering cases. This study’s primary advantage is to contrast British and Egyptian arbitration proceedings in construction and to recommend some amendments to the Egyptian arbitration procedures, especially the Egyptian Arbitration Law (EAL). For example, according to the EAL, in order for the arbitral award to be enforced, first it must be deposited in a court that has jurisdiction over its execution. Second, in order for it to be deposited, 90 days must have passed since its issuance. This research finds that the reduction of this duration will achieve more prompt justice. The study consists of three steps: (1) comprehending the Arbitration Act 1996 and Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) proceedings; (2) giving insight into the attributes, challenges, and problems of the Egyptian arbitration procedures to improve the current ones by understanding the British arbitration mechanism; and (3) holding face-to-face and/or online interviews with some Egyptian arbitration experts to develop Egyptian arbitration procedures.
