| description abstract | In programs coded in FORTRAN working arrays are often used for dynamic storage. For large programming projects, bugs are often caused by poor tracking of the usage of these arrays. This note presents some ideas on how memory use can be tracked and presents in detail the steps in developing one memory tracking system. This memory management system uses linked lists to track both free and allocated memory. This system can de-allocate and re-use memory. | |
