| description abstract | There are many pathways of incorporating energy conservation in buildings through refurbishment projects. An integrated assessment-optimization framework is presented to direct energy management decisions in refurbishment projects. The focus will be on the case study of alternative passive measures, as part of refurbishment projects, to reduce the overall energy consumption in buildings. The relative priorities of alternative measures are identified with respect to their benefits and implications. These priorities will be fed into a utility function that is optimized along with a retrofit cost function using a bi-objective optimization model implemented in a case study refurbishment project. | |
