description abstractTensile properties of different sizes of dovetail connections made from Larix kaempferi and Pinus koraiensis are evaluated using three different methods. Dovetail connections are prepared at different sizes (120×120 mm, 180×180 mm,  180×240  mm, and 240×240  mm) and three specimens of each size are tested for their tensile properties. Initial stiffness, yield load, yield displacement, and ductility ratio values determined according to the three methods are different. However, the trends of those values with an increase in size are similar. The slope of the initial load-displacement curve is highly affected by the gap of the dovetail connection. Yield load and yield displacement values of dovetail connections are highly subject to the initial slope depending on the method used.
