description abstractA method for manufacturing polymer slotted screen pipes by the use of deformational cutting (DC) technology is presented in this paper. The slotted macrostructure is created by cutting through the pipe wall without chip removal. These screen pipes can be made from thermoplastic tubular workpieces which can either be standard pipes or have internal longitudinal grooves. Descriptions of the manufacturing method, process kinematics, required equipment, and tool for making slotted screen pipes are given. The influence of tool angles and process parameters on dimensions and accuracy of manufactured through slots is analyzed. The theoretical equations are verified by experimental results.
