description abstractBy optimization of the signal-to-noise ratio of a negative-feedback charge-sensitive electrometer, a noise level of about 0.7 fC peak to peak has been obtained. Output signal pulse width above the 1% amplitude level is 50 ms. Five parallel final amplifiers produce ±10 V outputs for input charges from ±1 fC to ±10 pC.
