description abstractA microwave radiation monitor designed for rapid measurement of microwave power density in the field is described. The instrument incorporates a broad-band spiral antenna whose design is based on a knowledge of the field pattern of a circular loop antenna. The power induced in the spiral by the radiation raises the temperature of a microbead thermistor in an electric circuit. This rise in temperature is a measure of the power density which is indicated directly on a meter.
