| description abstract | In connection with the National Hail Research Experiment vertical winds were measured in a thunderstorm by 10 special dropsondes dropped side-by-side over a distance of 4 km. The measurements, made at the northern edge of a weak-echo region, showed updrafts up to 13 m sec?1 at middle levels with much variability. | |
