description abstractMaps of the contours for the two-point wind correlation coefficient for zonal and meridional components over North America are shown for time lags of ?3, ?2, ?1, 0, +1, +2, +3 days at the 500-mb level, winter. The applications to Taylor's hypothesis and to diffusion in the atmosphere are discussed.
