| description abstract | Ten qualified weather observers were used to make estimates of the total cloud cover from satellite pictures. Tests were conducted to determine the standard deviation of estimates, the significance of the difference in estimates, and the error of estimates. Results indicate that the variability of the estimates was significant and suggestions are made that experience and training are necessary to cope with problems in this general area. | |
