| description abstract | Trends in atmospheric electricity are illustrated by means of four themes. These are that there is a constant and healthy change in the emphasis of research investigations; that practical applications of any research need to be kept in mind; that?even so?research of no obvious utility at its commencement can still suddenly become of immense importance; and that it is perhaps time for a new Thunderstorm Project. A plea is made for a greater emphasis on ?national? rather than ?international? research. | |
