| description abstract | Internal gravity waves have been recorded at London, Ontario, using a network of three microbarographs. It has been shown from experimental observations that internal gravity waves are generated by thunderstorms. The spectral behavior of these waves has been found to be essentially monochromatic. A simple model for the generation of these waves is presented and it is shown that the observed properties of the waves are in good agreement with the features of the suggested model. | |
