| description abstract | The trend toward larger and larger steamelectric plants, using fuels with high sulfur content, is resulting in increased attention to studies of diffusion of power-plant stack gases in the atmosphere. This article describes a method for sulfur-dioxide air-pollution sampling, utilizing a continuous analyzer and recorder operated in a helicopter. This method was developed to overcome many of the limitations of conventional sampling methods encountered in diffusion studies at one of the large coal-fired steamelectric plants in the Tennessee Valley Authority power system. | |
