| description abstract | Examples of the application of a general method, standard in aerodynamics and fluid mechanics, for expressing the meteorological equations in systematic non-dimensional form are given. In the case of the equation of motion, three dimensionless parameters appear in the particular choice made among the many possible resolutions.These are a Reynolds number, a Froude number, and a number expressing the influence of rotation, which it is proposed to name the ?Rossby number.? | |
