| description abstract | In this technical note, the results on adsorption of acid and basic dyes by sulfonated coal are presented. A mathematical model based on adsorption isotherm was developed to predict the desorption of dyes from the sorbent. There was a good agreement between the predicted and experimentally determined values for basic dyes only.
