| description abstract | A phototriangulation technique with analytical plotters which uses natural tie points only is described. Artificial image point marking or ground point targetting is not necessary any more. This leads to a highly economic triangulation system. An example based on synthetic data shows the favorable precision and reliability structure of a network based on analytical plotter observations as compared to stereocomparator observations. Test field results with artificial tie points indicate that the precision of image coordinates to be expected with this natural tie point method is about 7 μm. This meets even very high accuracy requirements of topographical blocks.
