| description abstract | An experimental technique for drawing and fluid extrusion of artificial composites is described. This method is utilized in a quantitative study of suppression of void formation and growth in materials through the application of hydrostatic pressure during deformation. Critical pressures, which are the minimum hydrostatic pressures required to suppress void initiation, are investigated. The experimental critical pressure data are compared with similar analytical data derived from a related upper bound equation. | |
