description abstractA device is described in which powder particles are pneumatically transported so as to achieve high-voltage energy conversion by contact and separation of dissimilar surfaces (triboelectricity). The device forms part of a system by means of which powders may be electrostatically sprayed. Applications are envisaged in operations ranging from metal-surface finishing to agricultural crop protection.
