| description abstract | Previously, investigations pertaining to the stability of a rotating unsymmetrical shaft carrying an unsymmetrical rotor have considered the mass of the shaft to be negligible when compared with the mass of the rotor. This paper considers a system formed by joining an unsymmetrical rotor to an unsymmetrical cantilever distributed-mass shaft. Numerical examples and experimental data are presented. | |
