| description abstract | This paper is a brief description of the purpose of the system and the principal manual and automatic steps in its operation. Samples of the input data and final artwork of the system are shown. The principal problems encountered in developing and using an automatic drafting machine for this application, and their solutions, will be covered. This includes the necessity for restrictions on line directions on the free-hand sketch used for input, the method of digitizing the sketch, determining an optimum command sequence, and the main sources of error in the final artwork caused by the drafting machine. | |
