description abstractThe magnitude of the perturbations to the steady-state rotation of most mechanisms is difficult to control with present methods. This paper shows an alternative method of reducing the magnitude of these oscillations. The analysis is carried out for a single slider-crank mechanism found in a tandem compressor. The analysis shows that an order of magnitude reduction in these oscillations is obtainable.
