description abstractTheoretical analysis of the vanes-in-rotor pump is presented in this paper. The interspace between the eccentric circles formed by the rotor and stator is expressed as a function of the angle. The annulus area variation and then the variation of the area between two adjacent vanes are used to find the pressure variation. Several ratios of rotor radius to stator radius, several number of vanes, different indices of compression, and different inlet and outlet port openings are considered for the investigation. Graphs presenting the variation of torque, frictional torque, output, mass flow, and efficiency are given. The analysis simplifies the design of the pump.
