description abstractThis paper presents numerical modeling of molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs). The physical model consists of electrical, electrochemical, mass transport, conservation of momentums and heat transfer analyses. Numerical solution is only implemented to solution of a planer two dimensional problem comprising averaged variables. Variations of variables in the cell normal direction are taken into account by related mathematical formulas. This solution technique is faster and more stable than a complete numerical solution. The solution results of the developed model to a typical problem are compared to available experimental data from the literature and acceptable agreement is perceived.
