description abstractThe development of the normalized Reynolds stress tensor, ui uj /q2 , in the region upstream of a fully developed, turbulent shear flow is investigated. An inviscid, linear model is used to predict values of the normalized Reynolds stress tensor as a function of position. The theoretical predictions are then compared with experimental results.
