description abstractThe buckling mode localization of a multiply supported column subjected to fully reversed, displacement-controlled cyclic loading is studied numerically. The results show that localization can take place and lead to limit loads similar to those reported in other structural members in the literature. Analysis of the results reveals the mechanisms by which localization takes place.
