| description abstract | A hard space suit suitable for use on planetary surfaces and for other extravehicular activities has been designed and fabricated at the Ames Research Center. Except for the use of soft gloves, the suit is constructed completely of hard materials and allows for exceptional mobility with low torques and leakage. There are no restoring torques in the constant volume joints; that is, the joints are neutrally stable in any position in which they are placed. | |
