description abstractTwo linear elastic models for describing stresses in center-wound rolls have been compared. One model includes wound on residual strains from the web while the other uses a clamped on stress boundary condition. The stress and displacement solutions to these two models, in the linear elastic limit, are shown to have analytical differences, and similarities.
