| description abstract | The confined-jet amplifier is a new fluidic amplifier, consisting of a power nozzle and a receiver which are located on the same axis in an enclosure. The control input is the enclosure pressure, and the output is the receiver pressure. The confined-jet amplifier can operate efficiently from 40 to 1000 psia. The output pressure recovery exceeds 85 percent of the supply pressure; typical pressure gain is 6.5. The vortex valve serves as an efficient input control element to the confined-jet amplifier. The combination is demonstrated to have stable infinite pressure gain. | |
