description abstractA geometric-kinematic model for the generation of surface topography in a single-pass surface grinding process is presented. The model incorporates the effects of process parameters such as table speed and wheel speed and also takes into account the wheel topography and original workpiece surface texture. Comparisons between model-simulated output and experimental results show a good match, supporting the validity of the model.
