description abstractLaminar flow through converging narrow channels is investigated. An analytical as well as a parameter model formulation is given of the flow rate through this channel. Experiments with water in a straight channel and with air in a circular channel are presented and compared with theory. The achieved agreement is considered a solid basis for flowmetering instruments.
