description abstractA theoretical analysis has been carried out on the linear free hydroelastic vibrations of a liquid attached to a cylindrical sector shell. The liquid is assumed to be an ideal liquid with a free surface, while for the motion of the sector shell the equations of Flügge were employed. The coupled problem has been reduced to an eigenvalue problem by applying the Galerkin method and yields the coupled natural frequencies and vibration modes as eigenvalues and eigenvectors, respectively. Numerical calculations were carried out to find the influence of the parameters of the structure-liquid system.
