description abstractThe paper describes the experimental investigation of the biplane Wells turbine for use on a wave power plant. The performance of the biplane turbine was tested in unidirectional steady air flow by varying the model configurations using solidity, gap-to-chord ratio, and rotor stagger angle. It was found that the gap-to-chord ratio and stagger considerably influenced the performance of the biplane turbine due to the mutual interference between the rotor planes.
