description abstractSynchronization of systems executing periodic and chaotic motions, both oscillatory and rotatory, is considered from the general standpoint in this review article. It is shown that the synchronization phenomenon goes hand in hand with the phenomenon of chaotization. The analogy of synchronization and phase transitions is shown. Several mechanical and physical examples are discussed.
